Syambhu has always been unique & antique ancient master piece,it has its own importance in religious way. As it is an important religious site of all the Buddhist and the followers of the Buddhism. It has its own beautiful & unique style, shape which attract not only the Buddhist monk but also all the people around the world. It is most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site. It has own great value among Buddhism as well as in Hinduism.
It was built in Ancient period during lichavi period in 5th century. It is located in west part of Kathmandu valley on the top hill. Its shape & design is different with the traditional Nepali looks. This Stupa consist a dome at a base which also symbolize the earth . And it has also the shape of the earth. Above there is cubical structure painted with pair eyes of Buddha looking in all four direction. It represent wisdom and compassion from the bond of the world, the person who reaches the state of enlightenment. And there is a nose like figure one symbol, which symbolize only path to enlightenment through the teaching and following the path of Buddha.
The pentagonal Toran is presented above each of the four side with statues engraved in them. Behind and above the Toran there are 13 tiers. Above all the tires there is a small space above in which Gajur is presented.
These 13 pinnacles on the top symbolize the stairs through which every person needed to go though to reach the realization of spiritual and enlightenment or Buddhahood.
